Made for extreme conditions - HYGRASGARD® humidity and temperature sensors - specially developed for use in pressurized systems up to 10 bar nominal pressure.
In addition to temperature, relative and absolute humidity, the dew point temperature in particular is a key measured value for protecting technical systems. Depending on the temperature, air can only absorb a limited amount of water vapor - if this amount is exceeded (e.g. due to cooling), condensation occurs: water precipitates as dew. Relative humidity describes how saturated the air is with water vapor, absolute humidity describes the actual water content.
Humidity and dew point measurement is particularly important in compressed air systems - because condensing Humidity can lead to the following problems:
- Rust formation in air and gas pipes
- Malfunctions / functional failures of individual components or entire devices
- Shortened operating time of compressed air systems
- Downtime in the production
- Rising operating costs due to downtime and maintenance
The HYGRASGARD® ESFTF is a calibratable screw-in sensor in a robust plastic housing - designed for use in compressed air systems up to 10 bar. It measures relative humidity (0-100 % RH) and temperature (4 switchable measuring ranges) and outputs the values as a 4-20 mA or 0-10 V standard signal. Absolute humidity, dew point and mixing ratio can also be output.
Thanks to the sensor protection function for high humidity (95...99 % RH), the sensor remains reliable: automatic heating takes place in the critical range. The sensor is installed vertically, i.e. with the sensor facing downwards.
