WIRELESS gateway with W-Modbus-module KYMASGARD® GW-wModbus

The KYMASGARD® GW-wModbus gateway with Modbus connection and W-Modbus module, GW-wModbus in an impact-resistant plastic housing with quick-release screws, for surface mounting, serves as a transition between wired Modbus and radio-based W-Modbus. Up to 100 participants can communicate with each other over a long distance (up to 500 m free field). An electrically isolated RS485 transceiver is used on the wired side (bus parameters can be set via DIP switches).

The simple structure of the wireless network and the connection stability make it easy to add wireless W-Modbus sensors to existing systems. Mixed forms of wired and wireless Modbus devices can also be easily integrated into existing network topologies via the W-Modbus gateway. Various operating modes are available for this purpose.

Gateway mode for connection to an existing Modbus topology or directly to a DDC, serves as a base station for W-Modbus sensors (max. 100 wireless devices).

Node mode enables the wireless connection of a wired Modbus sensor to a W-Modbus network (max. 1 wired sensor).

Node Pro mode (extended node mode optional) is used for the wireless connection of several wired Modbus sensors (max. 16 wired participants). Thanks to the innovative parameterization of the W-Modbus interface and the elimination of Modbus wiring, the entire W-Modbus network can be preconfigured (teach-in of the W-Modbus participants, parameterization of the gateway). This means that the network can be installed and commissioned quickly and easily at the destination.
