Duct sensors for humidity, temperature and CO2 AERASGARD® KFTM-CO2-W

The maintenance-free microprocessor-controlled surface-mounted sensor AERASGARD® KFTM - CO2 - W with automatic and manual calibration is used to measure the entire indoor climate. It measures CO2 in the range from 0...2000 ppm or 0...5000 ppm, air quality (VOC) in one of three selectable sensitivity levels (LOW / MEDIUM (default) / High), temperature in the range from -35...+80 °C and relative humidity from 0...100 % r.H. The measured variables are converted into standard signals of 0-10 V or 4...20 mA (selectable via DIP switches). Optionally, the measured variables can be shown as a continuous display in the illuminated display.


The relative humidity (% r.H.) is the quotient of the water vapor partial pressure and the saturation vapor pressure at the respective gas temperature. A digital, long-term stable sensor as a measuring element for relative humidity and temperature guarantees exact measurement results. The CO2 content of the air is determined using an optical NDIR sensor (non-dispersive infrared technology). The detection range of the sensors is calibrated for standard applications such as living room and conference room monitoring. Demand-based ventilation, increased well-being and customer benefit, increased comfort and a reduction in operating costs through energy savings are just some of the results of using the AERASGARD® CO2.

The above explanations show that there are applications for CO2 measurements and applications for VOC measurements, but from our point of view there are primarily applications for the combination of both measured variables. It is important to note that these two measured variables cannot be converted into each other or derived from each other. A CO2 transmitter with an NDIR sensor measures selectively and cannot detect mixed gases (VOC); a VOC sensor cannot detect CO2 molecules.
